Overlooked pop music news pt 2: Levi Stubbs

I heard about it last week, but after listening to a Chicago Public 
radio show about pop music[1] it got me thinking a bit about this guy.

I can't think of any other pop act besides the Four Tops that

1) retained its original lineup for 44 years; and

2) boasted a lead singer whose voice pretty much everyone knew, but 
whose name... well, seriously, did the name "Levi Stubbs" ring a bell 
with anyone here?

Anyway, it was a hell of a voice, and they were a hell of a band.
