Okay, I hate posting on what's no more than random speculation anyways
but in an effort to try and flush the slew of "Discount Whatever"
posts off the list, here's the latest:
According to ESPN, the Braves are offering Yunel Escobar, Gorkys
Hernandez and one of Charlie Morton or Jo-Jo Reyes, plus maybe another
pitcher.
Um, wow.
Peavy, at a cost-effective contract through 2012 (or is it 2013)
without giving up any of the Braves major prospects? This is why I
doubt it'll happen, largely because I can't imagine the Braves getting
Peavy for that little (definitely at least without including Shaefer,
unless he's being traded for a SS if the Braves don't want Lillibridge/
Prado to take over) but that would be an amazing trade.
A 2010 rotation of Peavy, Hudson, Jurrjens, Hanson, Reyes (of whomever
in #5) is pretty impressive.
