The Rose Award goes to Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals, who
went three-for-three with four RBI and scored two runs in a 12-3 win
over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Pujols hit a three-run homer to help eliminate the Diamondbacks from
the NL West pennant race. Arizona third baseman Mark Reynolds set a
major league season record with 201 strikeouts.
