According to Jeff Horrigan in Tuesday's Herald:
Drew already has been sidelined for eight days and
would be eligible to return on Sept. 2 if placed on the
DL. His problems might explain why the Sox re****tedly
are interested in Atlanta Braves outfielder Mark Kotsay,
who has cleared waivers and is eligible to be traded. Kotsay,
32, is batting .289 with six homers and 37 RBI in 87 games
for Atlanta. He has batted .282 with 109 homers in 1,427
career games with Florida (1997-2000), San Diego (2001-03),
Oakland (2004-07) and Atlanta (2008). The Milwaukee Brewers
also have expressed interest in Kotsay because of the uncertainty
surrounding Ryan Braun's rib injury.
