For the first time in franchise-history teammates have earned IL MVP
honors (PawSox 1B/OF Jeff Bailey) and IL Most Valuable Pitcher honors
(PawSox RHP Charlie Zink). The PawSox also placed four players on the
year-end IL All-Star team (matching their club-record from the 1979
season and the most in the league since 2002) as Charlie Zink is the
starting pitcher, Jeff Bailey and teammate Chris Carter are
outfielders on the squad, and Joe Thurston is the IL All-Star second
baseman.
