Hawks start season in Philly
First home game is Nov. 3 vs. Knicks

For the first time in three years, the Hawks won't open the season
with an extended Western Conference road trip.
But they will open the 2006-07 NBA season on the road, in Philadelphia
on Nov. 1. The Hawks' schedule will be officially released Tuesday.
In their first five games of the season the Hawks will face 76ers star
Allen Iverson, New York under Isiah Thomas in their home opener Nov.
3, Atlanta native Dwight Howard and Orlando at home Nov. 5, LeBron
James in Cleveland on Nov. 7 and All-Star and former Georgia Tech star
Chris Bosh in Toronto on Nov. 10.
NBA champion Miami will come to Philips Arena on Nov. 18 for a
Saturday night game. The Hawks won't face defending Western Conference
champion Dallas until after the All-Star break, Feb. 26 in Dallas.
A New Year's Eve game in San Antonio wraps up the calendar year for
the Hawks, while Boston will be the Hawks' Martin Luther King Jr. Day
opponent Jan. 15 at Philips.
The Hawks' two longest road trips, five games each from Dec. 3-10 and
Feb. 9-20 — the latter interrupted by All-Star weekend in Las Vegas,
eclipse their longest home stands of the season.
They'll play four straight at Philips three times, once Jan. 27-Feb. 2
and twice in March, when they play nine of 15 games at home. They'll
finish the regular season at home April 17 against Indiana.
