Would you care to cite a precedent? I can only recall one instance in
the last 40 years when a team lost to the #1, then got a "rematch" in a
bowl game. I can't recall the year, but it was an Oklahoma team that
lost to #1 Nebraska, then met them again in the Orange Bowl. Other
than that, rematches just don't happen.
There have been a LOT of teams, with only a loss to #1, that haven't
been in the champion****p. So when you say "any other team" it implies
a bias against Michigan. My question is on what grounds would there be
a bias?
Michigan already had their chance at the #1 team.
Michigan did not win their conference, while Florida did.
By not playing a game in the last two weeks, Michigan didn't do
anything to hurt their standing. They didn't do anything to help it,
either.
Florida beat a one-loss Arkansas team, on a neutral field, to help
their status.
Florida is the rightful team to play OSU.
