As a Jets fan, Im really impartial here. One thing that I find funny is,
how
all the announcers here in NY like WFAN sem to think that IND will blow
out
the Bears.
I see this game being quite close. Here's why:
Much has been made over the fact that Manning dominates Grossman. Well,
Manning is great, but I see real problems here. First of all, Manning's
track record in the playoffs away from IND is well, awful. Even this year,
Manning's QB rating in the playoffs is 62.6, LOWER than "scrub" Grossman's
75.4. Thats right. Grossman has been MORE productibe than Manning in the
playoffs, by a pretty good margin. Manning has thrown 5 INTs, and 2 TDS.
Not
exactly awe inspiring. I don't see a big diff in the two running games.
Clearly, the Bears are much better on defense, both against the run and
the
pass. Specail teams is pretty even, with the Colts having Viniteri, and
the
Bears having Hester. I dont see a big diff in coaching.
At the end of the day, expecially with the weather, I just don't see
Manning
having a big day. I see the Colts playing Sanders upa lot, with 8 men in
the
box, daring Grossman to throw. CAn he make enough big plays? Maybe. Can
the
Bears make big plays on defense ? Maybe. Special teams? Maybe.
At the end of the day, I think Manning has to have a big day for the Colts
to win. And thats a pretty iffy proposition.
I see this as being a toss up. Getting 7 points in a gift.
Bears 24
Colts 21
