I have to say, despite the disappointment tonight (i didn't see the
game, had to work) i'm totally happy with the team this year. I was
expecting another year fini****ng well out of the playoffs, maybe even
in a lottery spot. Being on the west coast of Canada i don't get to
see much of the B's so i can't get to involved in discussion over
styles of play or individual players, but I am very impressed with the
heart this team showed. It also looked like they had totally bought
into Julien's system. Hopefully that continues to be the case next
season and they don't tune him out.
I'd like to see a sniper brought in. Murray is done, and our other
big guns up front are more playmaker/dangler types so someone with big
time scoring touch would help out the likes of Savard, Kessel and
Bergeron. A quick look at the UFA list shows nothing promising
however. Next on teh shopping list would be a top 4 d-man. Wade
Redden works for me. I'm also ready to see if Matt Lashoff is ready to
play a regular ****ft in the NHL.
The best news is i see no reason to make wholesale changes to this
team. If Rask is ready, great, if not i'm happy with another year of
Timmy. If Zach Hamill and Brad Marchand make the team, fabolous, if
not i'm happy with the forwards we have. With a healthy Bergeron and
a couple tweaks i see a 10-15 point jump in the standings and
contention for the divison.
