While reading B's stories in the Montreal Gazette (and feeling a bit
better that there are just
as many crazy asshole Habs fans rioting as there are disgraceful B's
fans beating people up)
saw this beauty about Jumbo Joe Thornton.
"Jumbo Joe was a virtual no-show, again, dazzling the quote-starved
scribblers by pulling the "we play 82 games to get a Game 7 at home"
chestnut out of the well-scuffed cliche trunk.
Outside of one monster ****ft, Mr. Thornton isn't doing much to change
that easygoing, laid-back reputation at the most passionate time of
year. Hockey's answer to Perry Como, this guy. Nice, pleasant set of
pipes, Perry, but he doesn't stir the blood like Sinatra."
