DWR will be enough to keep you dry in a light shower, but prolonged 
and/or heavy rain will defeat it and the face fabric will "wet 
out", becoming staurated.  At that point the Goretex is around 100% 
of what what keeps you dry, though it won't be "breathing" much at 
that point.  Still, a little condensation is probably better than a 
great deal of rain...
