When?

Ten years ago when it was obvious that China and India
where industrializing.

A year ago, when it was obvious the Republicans were
losing control of the government and a last feeding
frenzy started looking like a good idea?

It's probably longer than a decade.  A decade is probably
a good number if the environmentalists and the states
cooperated.

Given the probable lawsuits, and given that individual states
will do what they can to fight off production for NIMBY
reasons, I'd guess somewhat more than a decade to first
oil.

OK, so explain to me why the possibility of a minor increase
in supply off in the indeterminate future depressed prices,
while certain knowledge of China and India's industrialization
had no impact until suddenly a year before the Republicans are
losing control of the government?

Then how do you explain the fact that the companies
aren't willing to relinquish those unproductive leases?

There are a thousand things that can be done to reduce
demand and ****ft to alternative fuel sources.

Having done *one*, and one that's way down the
list on effectiveness, is not particularly impressive.
