It sounds like a pain... but in reality it shouldn't take more than half
an hour. Which is about the same amount of time you'll spend hoping you
don't have to spend 200$ on a new tent because your wa****ng machine just
destroyed your existing one... I'm not saying it /will/ destroy it,
but is once every ten years /really/ that much of a pain that you're
willing to find out the hard way?
Once it is washed, just keep in clean with a quick wipe when airing and
packing after a trip. That really /is/ trivial, and saves this problem
happening again.
It'll probably be a different fabric coating so not a direct comparison,
but Hilleberg's FAQ specifically says to *not* use a wa****ng machine.
" Can I wash my tent when it is soiled?
If you tent is dirty try and clean it with a wet cloth or sponge in
luke-warm water or rinse it in a bath tub. Do not use any detergents and
do not wash your tent in a wa****ng machine!"
Pete.
