That was attempted years ago and never caught on in the USA
(thinner/thicker: cold spots) and integrated foam pads (Frostline).

Ralph tried to make r.o.c. car camping ignoring the fact that a couple
of other trailer and rv alt.* groups exist. It's unmoderated.
