Paramedics hiked into the backcountry of Banff National Park to rescue
a cyclist who lost control of his bike on a mountain path Sunday.
The man was mountain biking with a partner on Stoney Squaw Mountain
Trail, near Mount Norquay, when he fell off his bike into the bushes,
sustaining serious chest injuries.
Rescuers hiked about a kilometre from the Trans-Canada Highway. The
patient was heli-lifted to hospital, said the park safety specialist
Aaron Beardmore.
