Thanks. I had and avidly read a copy of Colin Fletcher's The Comleat
Walker back in the mid 70s and had completely forgotten about it. Such
an entertaining as well as informative tome! I will certainly look for
the latest edition. I was sad to learn that the author is now walking
the Elysian Fields having reached a very respectable 85 years young
(http://articles.latimes.com/2007/jun/16/local/me-fletcher16).
I look
forward to re-acquainting myself with this wisdom and to not only
reading but acting upon it, including the guidance on footware.
