Having used propane torches, I can tell you that it's not a regulator, it's

an orifice. Please open the valve on the stove wide open, and then
regulate 
the flame with the propane torch valve. It would be very easy to over 
pressure the valve if you close the stove, and leave the torch open.

Propane and butane pressures vary with temperature. Though, propane is 
noticably higher.

emergency measure until a Lindal canister can be purchased.
