Naw, they are moving, just very very slowly. Contracting might be a
better word. They are in their last phases of turning into snow fields.

Saw some nice medials in Iceland.

Part of the confusion comes between distingui****ng movement of the main
glacial body and the terminus. The fallacy is that if the body moves so
does the terminous. The naive forget that ice is plastic and it's
melting if you are in temperate areas. I heard one of the women on the
Lonely Planet program make this mistake saying that some glacier was
getting longer. Ain't that way.

Which one? I've only been in the Tetons and not the Winds yet. Maybe
one of these days.

You would have seracs (possibly free standing).

We have some on Shasta.

Slipped, eh? Fresh on hard, at certain temps is hazardous.

Piles of boulders. Cover them with loose snow.....

Muscle is certainly a way to power through problems.
In the end it's all balance. That then can determine the min or max of
muscle used. It's fine in the short run, on short climbs, but on bigger
and longer climbs you get fatigue and all the secondary problems. It
gets into youth and experience. Sort of like how one loses kids.

Planes on skis don't have brakes like wheels and tires do.

Sounds good.

Weathering takes some time. The last ice age wasn't tat long ago.

No, that can be polish. You will have degrees of polish.

Good job.

What are you doing? Trolling for me? I just did a brief pass through
across all news groups. I have a busy weekend ahead of me (I'll see
Rob). I just have to deal with moderation and FAQ updating (nothing of
late). I'll get back here to get to Chris's Norway bc question.
