Possibly. In general, round laces are stronger though.

It probably depends on the exterior material and how tight it is to
the core. You'll know what I mean if you've ever had a broken or worn
down round lace.
I remember back last year as I prepared to go up the Half Dome
cables. A leader of a group of HS age kids was prepping them for the
climb. He was telling his group to stuff everything in their packs
with nothing exposed (water bottles secured). The final message was
to double tie all shoelaces and make sure they were tight, because
"you won't be able to re-tie them until your get to the top".
