Electric boat idea?

I was out with a camera crew from WGCU TV the other day and the
shooter said that even my quiet 4 little stroke was putting too much
vibration on the camera when he was zoomed way out so I was poling
around a lot. I have thought about an electric for a while and this
reinvigorated the idea. I would still keep my outboard for when I
really wanted to go somewhere but most of the time we are just poking
around in the mangroves and about half the year were are either idle
or slow speed back there by law.
I was thinking about 2 golf cart motors on rotating pods under the
deck of my pontoon, dropping straight prop shafts down on either side
of the regular engine bracket when you are electric. They would
retract up against the bottom of the deck when you are underway under
gasoline power. 36v golf cart motors are pretty cheap on the used
market because people want to swap them out for the faster 48v motor
when they use them off a golf course. That would also keep you down to
6 batteries or even 3 group 27 or larger trolling motor batteries. If
you spread them around the boat the weight might be tolerable.
This will end up being about 7 HP with the stock motor and based on my
7.5 HP merc kicker, it would get pretty close to exceeding hull speed.
If you had the hot rod golf cart motors you would have more power but
not really any more speed.
