India batted like they do in Tests and did badly in ODIs. Here are
some lessons:
1. Attack like hell. Don't defend and play backfoot. Yuvraj, Patel,
Ohja etc. were somewhat successful because they hit 6's and 4's.
2. Last two wickets' stands put on nearly 50 runs. They were playing
aggressive Cricket without worrying about technique and strategy. Let
Shastri and Manjrekar do technique and strategy. Attack like lions and
the bowling will give up. 45 runs from the last two wickets. Think of
this.
3. Go on the frontfoot and hit the ball very hard. That's the way
Yuvraj and the last two wickets were able to stop the spinners.
4. Take stance well outside the crease. Force the bowler to bowl short
and then step back and pull (Sehwag does this).
5. Sri Lankan spinner are very good. Agreed. But their batsman are
not. Sangkara is world's greatest Test batsman. Attack their batting.
Keep 4 slips and a gully and intimidate them by fast bowling.
6. Jo dar gaya, samjo mar gaya. Now go an rip into the SL batting.
