Heh...just so you know, this has been in the works for several weeks
(and on my radar for several years). While I'd hope that RSD could be
more productive than it seems to be, this is not the result of an RSD
thread.
Also, I'm suggesting that the divisions rules be changed to adequately
reflect the changing role of the division from one of "introduction"
to a division specifically for college level competition regardless of
experience.
Here's a few questions though to make this conversation more
interesting (and possibly productive). These are for anyone who wants
to answer them:
- Do you think that college eligibility should be reduced to 4 years ?
If so, should there be a "red****rt" year?
- Should there be exceptions for military service? What about other
kinds of service (Peace Corps, City Year, etc.)? How should the UPA
draw the line between what is/is not service deserving of an
exception?
- Should there be a level outside of college that starts your clock
(e.g. Club Nationals or Regionals)?
- When you graduate HS should your college eligibility begin ticking
regardless of playing in college or at any other UPA sanctioned
event? If, so should it start immediately or after a one year period
(as it is set up now)?
Just so everyone knows, I may not be here to respond to everything but
I'll try to read it all.
