I can feel the trouble that is felt by Canadian's athletes. It shows a
country under great stress.... and most likely from acts of their
closest neighbour. Imagine that you are a kid in the block and your
neighbourhood are dominated by bullies. You will always feel the
stress in every moves.  Look at Australia.... far away from the Union
Jack's influence or anyone else for that matter. They seem to have
more freedom and are doing very well. Bottom line, you cannot split
between the state of your well-beings from any dependencies and
political/economical implications.

Ya, you are right, to be born Canadian is to be born taxed poor.
