Hi SK,

I sailed the Missile a year or two ago, the 60ish liter model that was
about 40-45 cm wide. What a blast! Man, that thing had limitless top
end. The more you pointed it downwind and sheeted in, the faster it
went! I wasn't wearing a GPS, so I have no idea about numbers, but
I'm sure the look on my face must have counted for something....

That said, chop sucked on that board. It is definitely built for
ditch type conditions, perfectly butter smooth water is what you're
looking for. Picking your way through chop is just no fun, although
if you're just trying to get upwind to a starting point it worked
fine. But if you're putting the hammer down, any texture on the water
is scary as hell!

Be prepared to rig BIG too. I was swapping that board with a 6.6
speed sail, and my everyday 4.5/ 85 liter fsw kit. The windier the
better. Don't expect it to get up and running in 20 knots, it really
needed a ton of power to get moving. I think it was probably
sustained low 30s, with gusts up to about 40 when I took it out (yes
with a 6.6)... But there's been a lot of barley and hops since I rode
that thing, so I can't be sure about the numbers!!

If you do find one, man, have fun!!!! What a rush to sail one of
those boards!! Where are you sailing, BTW? Also, I can probably get
you the starboard or the F2, if you give me enough lead time! That's
the type of board they build to order, so it'll probably take a few
months...
