Alan,
This is much superior video to my Oregon Scientific helmet cam.
The OS is just much to jerky to be watchable. Could you
(again) post the exact equipment you are using, and maybe where you
got it. If the vid is that good I'd like an identicle setup.
Thanks,
-Craig
Thanks, Craig.
I bought it through helmetcamera : http://www.helmetcamera.com/
I bought
the lens and an older style dvr. I notice they now have an upgraded
version
of the dvr. The one I have is okay, just that its buttons are a little
delicate, hence the shut off on my backloop. I'm thinking about duck
taping
the button to avoid that as I have a 2 gig SD chip in it that will record
about an hour. I saw what Jarrett McPeek went through trying to mount his
Gopro and also bought the neophrene head gear they offer for 27 bucks. It
has a place stitched in the top where you mount the lense. You don't even
know the lense is there when you're sailing, plus I think the neophrene
must
buffer some of the roughness. You can use the lens with any camcorder.
Keep
that in mind because you could easily use your recorders with this lense.
The lens will capture 640/ 480. The lense uses a small rechargeable
battery
pack, and the DVR has its own rechargeable battery. I also purchased the
water proof case that stores the battery pack and DVR around my waist. The
cord that connects the lense to the case is more than long enough @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
about
6
feet. The DVR uses the SD chip so there are no moving parts.
Not being the software geek, it took me a long time finding a video
editor.
Finally found something called Vegas Movie Platinum 8 that works well
enough.
Good luck!
Alan
