-- After many year [decades] of putting on the Blowout, the
event organizers decided to let somone else take the reins. Can you
blame them? My hat's off for the great job they did for so loooong.
However, nobody stepped up to the plate this year and the event was
not going to happen. The CCWA decided to schedule an event, The
Screamin' Reach [I'm going!], on the now available first weekend of
May. A group of us here in NM decided that there were enough of us
going to put together some version of a Blowout. In order to not step
on the Screamin' Reach, already scheduled in Corpus for May 3rd, we
decided to schedule the Blowout for the last weekend of April. Sorry
that this isn't the traditional weekend, but it's better than not
having the Blowout at all. So, the NMWA is migrating down to SPI and
will be at the North Flats to put on an unofficial and re-inflated
version of the Blowout.
