It certainly hasn't been a pleasant experience for me. I've broken 3 
arms and 1 head within a couple years. In Chinook's defense they did 
replace 2 of the broken arms and the head.  But still, I'm at the point
where I don't feel I can trust the Chinook Carbon Formula boom anymore.
Most of the time the breaks occurred in colder weather. I'm not sure if 
that is a factor or not. I sail overpowered and weigh between 190 to 200 
pounds.  I'm hoping this is not normal for all carbon booms. I sure do 
hope you get better useful life from the Chinook Carbon Formula boom 
than I did.
