Re: Recommend board for learning waterstarts

That board might be a bit small for your current proficiency level
(I'm thinking more like 140 Ltrs) but
maybe you could give us an example of your local conditions. If
they're
very windy, that could be a good choice. Do you plane? Do you use
straps?
how about a harness?

Waterstarting tends to be easier on smaller gear, if you have plenty
of wind, if not, you might want something floatier. If you're willing
to go $700,
would you go $750. Here's a killer deal on a freeride Naish Icon.
This
is a "performance" board, but it does have a reinforced nose section.

Here are some other possibilities

Or if you want used, try this

I'm not sure what kind of a sail tha "Vinta" came with, but my guess
is that
you'll be wanting a new rig also, and none of these prices include a
rig.

Of course it's always best to try the board before you buy it, but
since
you're riding a "Vinta" (a very very old board), and since you're
looking
at "The House", I'm guessing there's no shop near you, and no
windsurfing
club or organization knowledge for you to leverage, yes?

Good Luck,

-Craig
