Re: Recommend board for learning waterstarts

Looks like the House has the same board, with fla****er graphics, for
$580.  Is there a weight/build difference?  If you're on a real
budget, this might be a do-everything board for you.  I demo'd one
when they first came out and thought it sailed small for a 112.  Might
be a little tough to uphaul.  If you can afford it, the more modern
yellow Bics are much better.  The 118 on their website is a board that
could, at your weight, end up being your "big" board for a long time.

As far as waterstarting, imho small boards are only easier once you
know how.  Wider boards give you more room for foot-placement error
when you are first learning.  I don't know what a Vinta is, but when I
replaced an old Mistral Equipe with a 1995 Bic Veloce (the big 328) I
got my first waterstart the first time out.  Replace that old board.
