Just for contrast. I used to have a Prodigy. I found that it was  a
pain to waterstart. Clearing the sail was more difficult because I had
to reach rather across the board as well as up high to get over the
deck. Using the tail was not even easy because I would have to lift
the boom so high to get it up on the deck since sinking the tail was
not about to happen.

I just find that my small board allows me to snap up a waterstart so
much quicker than on other boards. I also have a Mistral Explosion 135
and even that is harder (less easy) to waterstart than my small board.
I have not mentioned the maneuverability of the smaller boards over
that of the larger boards but the amsller boards (probably less volume
and/or shorter) are so much easier to get into position and keep
there.
