Strong winds and a strong current made for a pretty wild day at The
Wall.


I didn't know what was going on, but really sensed a great mystery in
the wind when I journeyed up from Wall #4 to Wall #2 and discovered no
people on the water, yet plenty of parked vehicles along the road....
seemed I crossed over into the Twilight Zone.

Short while later rescue boat really made a great effort to get to the
scene... wasted no time passing me going very fast against the 50+ MPH
wind...  it was really quite impressive.  I figured it was a kiter who
was in trouble because there was kite carnage up & down the river
everywhere at the time.

I'm very sorry to hear of the death of Mark Estes.  It reminds me of
how fragile we all are and how suddenly tragedy such as this can
happen without warning. May comfort be with the loved ones, friends &
family of our fallen comrade.... and may the winds of gladness be with
those of us who can continue onward towards that glorious destination
of bissful 3.7 conditions in the life beyond.
