Someone gave me a Pryde 6.2 he was having trouble getting the mast into.
The sleeve was blocked about 6 inches from the tip. I opened a
slit about 2" long and found an inner sleeve (synthetic cloth?) had
been fouling the sleeve and blocked the mast. I cut away some of the
inner sleeve and now the mast goes all the way in. What next? What is
the function of that inner sleeve? I can't believe any manufacturer
would bother putting in a part that doesn't show if it doesn't have some
function. TIA
